April Fools

I know that April Fool’s day was 4 days ago but its still floating around our house. I am not sure who told him about it but Isaiah caught onto the April Fools antics this year. He was telling people they had a monkey on their face or spider in their hair. Okay fine. Well on April 2nd he is still doing it. I let him know that it only works one day out of the year and it was time to stop (can you tell I am not a fan of the April Fool’s day jokes).
Well last night he would lie to me or Christina about something and when I would start to call him out on the lie he would yell "April Fool’s"
I did not take me long to realize that he now thinks he can lie, and if caught he just has to say April Fool’s. I let him know that April Fool’s is over and that he may not lie to me. I let him know if it happened again that he would have time out.
Well it did happen again. He served his time out and finished the night off well.
Allen had a staff meeting last night and so he got home in time to give the kids hugs and kisses good night. After the kids were settled he asked me how the kids were. As I passed on the tale of our son and the lies covered by April Fool’s he started laughing. Yep I agree it was funny, but at the time I am trying to keep our child from starting a life of lies (well it was not that bad) and he was laughing. Glad he was not home he would not have made it the night without laughing and the kids would never take the no lies rule seriously.
